The Class of 59 held their 50th reunion on October 2, 2009 at the Bridgewater Marriott.  It was THE BEST!  I can’t believe its been one month since that perfect night with all of our friends – some new and some old.  We even got to see a few classmates who never attended a reunion before along with our old standbys who always seem to make our parties.  Thank you all for all your nice notes and emails telling us what a great time you had!

On Saturday, we had breakfast together at the hotel and then on to lunch in Livingston at Eppes Essen.  What a spread we had and another opportunity to party on!  We then went to grand old Livingston High School where we were given a talk and tour by the current principal Pamela Clause McGroardy.  How impressed were we with her!!!!  Her enthusiasm and knowledge of the children of Livingston was outstanding.  We all sat in our old auditorium seats and then were given a tour of the “new” LHS!  To say it has changed is an understatement!  The facilities are outstanding and the students of LHS should be proud of their school.  After our tour it was onto the yellow school busses for a tour of the town.  It ain’t what it used to be!  Could not believe the new additions and changes made, but then some things were just the same like the annex buildings and Harrison School!  On Saturday night some of us got together for dinner to wind up a perfect weekend.

Sunday morning a group set sail on the Norwegian Dawn for a cruise to Bermuda to continue on with the reunion!  I can’t tell you how much fun that was.  The group that went was the greatest and we all had an outstanding time.  When we pulled into NYC on the following Sunday it was kind of sad to know that our great 50th reunion was over.

PICTURES – PICTURES – PICTURES:

On our website you will find some pictures from classmates of our festivities.  Nancy Bannigan, Edi Helmbach, John Lenox and Barbara Ambielli have provided us with some great shots.  I had a lot of fun putting them all together, but could not even think about it if it wasn’t for all the help of Rob Anthony (Bob Kleinwakes).  They are arranged in three categories:  Reunion Night, Day in Livingston and Cruise.  We also have two additional (not to be missed) categories, which include video’s to enjoy.  They are:  2009 Cheerleaders and Bugler’s Holiday.

In addition, there are a group of pictures that were provided by Joan Duffy.  As you all know, her departed husband Fritz took many pictures for our reunions over the years.  We have a class picture of all past reunions as well as some old photos of Livingston.  Now that we have had our 50th, its kind of fun to see how we looked over the years!

Please keep checking our website as it will be running for another year and we will be putting some information on it from time to time.  We told you at the reunion this may be our last “big” bash, but we will definitely be doing some “mini” reunions at various times.  Plus, if anyone wants to go to a destination, possibly around the country, give us some suggestions.  Please keep in touch and let us know of any changes to your addresses or emails.

Miss you all already,

Dee Reinhardt Lagattuta
